The Holocaust began in 1933 when Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany and ended in 1945 when the Nazis were beat by the Allied powers. The word Holocaust, from the Greek word holokauston means sacrifice by fire, refers to the Nazi’s planned slaughter of the Jewish people. In addition to Jews, the Nazis targeted homosexuals, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and the disabled for persecution. Anyone who resisted the Nazis was sent to forced labor or murdered. The word Nazi tands for National Socialist German Worker’s Party. The Nazis used the term The Final Solution to refer to their plan to murder the Jewish people. It is estimated that 11 million people were killed during the Holocaust. Six million of these were Jews. The Nazis killed approximately two-thirds of all Jews living in Europe. An estimated 1.1 million children were murdered in the Holocaust.

The Nazis wanted to eliminate Jews and other communities was that they believed that Germans were a superior race and that this race’s survival was threatened by an ‘inferior races’ such as Jews, gypsies and disabled people. Their existence (in their minds) was a biological threat to the Aryan race. This is whay made them think what they were doing was rite. The Nazis held the Jews responsible for Germany’s defeat in World War I. Eventually in the late 1930’s, the Nazis exterminated countless handicapped Germans by poisonous gas. After Germany invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941, they employed mobile killing units. The people that operated these large numbers of Jews and gypsies in open fields and ravines. They finally developed a more ‘efficient’ method for killing large numbers of people. They established six extermination centers in Poland and began the murder that now typifies all accounts of the Holocaust. The Nazis deported those marked for extermination to these centers from Western Europe and from the Eastern European ghettoes established by the Nazis. Millions of others died in these ghettos and concentration camps because of forced labor, starvation, exposure, brutality and disease.

Hello , my name is Cheyenne H. Marshall , the H stands for Halvetia (its german and my granny’s middle name).  I hate it !! Its like the only thing about my name that I don’t like , everything else is perfictly fine. But anyways , I live on E Penn st , I’ve lived here m entire life , I was even born in the hospital that is directly up the street from here. Theres lots of different kinds of people that live around here , rite next to me is Ms.Caren . She has three nieces and they come over on the weekedns and during the summer , so sometimes I go over there or they come to my house. And she has two sons who also come and visit their both older so they arent around as much. Around the corner is my friend Secret , we used to go to the same school but when she moved she changed schools.

Secret and I have had some crazy times together , but now that we’re in highschool it seems as if everything has changed. I don’t spend as much time with her as I did when she first moved around here. I only see her when I come home early from school because we get on the same bus , but we dont really have much time to talk because when we get off we have to go two different ways.  Across the srteet from her is Rob , we used to like eachother , but , well  , I really don’t know what happened. I see him sometimes when I come home later on. Down the street from Rob is my friend Diamond , we used to be the best of friends , until she got her new boyfriend and she started doing drugs , this all started just last summer.

I remember her coming home from his house telling me all kinds of new stories! About their first kiss and all kinds of lovey stuff like that. Then the stories started changing , they went from kissing to rolling , from rolling to popping , popping to snorting , snorting to shots and drinking alcohol almost everyday. My mom soon found out about the “new” Diamond and told me she didn’t want to to be around her anymore (she thinks shes a bad influence but I won’t let anybody enfluence me). Diamond is a little bit older then me , by almost two years , we became such close friends because I dont have an older sister and she dosent have a younger sisiter, so we where always there for eachother. I’ve had lots more role models like Diamond after we stoped being friends, there is my big cousin Urena , shes 21 now and has a new born baby and a 1 year old , we used to always be together ! And my other big cousin Brianna she had a 2 year old and is only 17 , we dont see eachother as much as we did before. It would always be Diamond, Rena, Brianna and I ,you would always find us at the end of my grandma’s block playing jumprope , or doing our nails , but now it seems like everyone just grew up.

Now everybody is always looking at me saying , “Shes next!” and other things like that , but I dont think so , I know what I want in life and Im not going to let anything get in the way of that! Im they only granddaughter , (on my mom’s side that lives in philly) that has a chance of finishing highschool and going to college , so there is a lot of pressure on little old Cheyenne. But I would say that I’m doing good , I’m doing okay in school , whenever im missing work I get it done as fast as I can. Im involved in activities in and outside of school and boys are the last thing on my mind!

There are and have been lots of teens in America that have stress and problems in their life that cause suicide. Teen suicides are very common in the US, stats say that 22% of the teens who try to commit suicide use drugs and drink. About 2.6% of children will try to kill themselves and 1% will succeed. A huge percent of the children have mental stress and anxiety problems. Some teens kill themselves because of relationship problems or problems at home like in Romeo and Juliet.

In a survey of high school students, the National Youth Violence Prevention Resource Center found that almost 1 in 5 teens had thought about suicide, about 1 in 6 teens had made plans for suicide, and more than 1 in 12 teens had attempted suicide in the last year. As many as 8 out of 10 teens who commit suicide try to ask for help in some way before committing suicide, such as by seeing a doctor shortly before the suicide attempt. Here is the age range of Americans that try to commit suicide 15-24 . There are about 31,000 suicides a year in the U.S., the 3rd leading cause of death in people 15 – 24 years old, and the 11th leading cause over all age groups. Worldwide, almost a million people commit suicide every year. Global annual teenage suicide statistics think that the suicide rate can go to 1.5 million by 2020. There are lots of causes of teen suicides , and here are some of them.

Many teens have thoughts of death, they can come from a variety of causes, and can end in  attempts on their lives. The National Institute of Mental Health believes that as many as 25 suicides are attempted for each one that is completed. That means that for every teen suicide that you hear of, there are probably at least 25 suicide attempts made. And this does not even cover the teenage suicide attempts and completed suicides that are never heard about. Understanding that a teen suicide attempt is a call for help is essential in preventing a completed attempt later. Most teen that have a lot on their mind are at a higher risk of committing suicide ,like if there is problems at home ,plus drama at school ,sports and other extra curricular activities. Also if they are at a high risk if they use any kind of drug ,abuse alcohol or have some kind of mental problem or suffer from depression.  Different people have different warning signs for people who might be thinking about committing suicide and knowing them could help preventing it.

Talk about suicide or death in general, talk about going away, talk about feeling hopeless or feeling guilty, pull away from friends or family, lose the desire to take part in favorite things or activitie, have trouble concentrating or thinking clearl, experience changes in eating or sleeping habits, drinking alcohol, taking drugs, or driving too fastall all warning signs of someone that wants to commit suicide. If you are older you could go to the poliece or something like that but if your younger you could tell a counselor at your school. It is always important to pay attention to your friends or teenagers around you to make sure they arent having any suicidal thoughts. make sure they are doing good in school and that they still have a life outside of school.

1. When i wached “Bullied” it made me feel bad for the people that had to go through being treated wrong everyday. I know some people that had to and still are going through some of the things that took place in the documentary.

2. No it dosen’t, and I don’t see any bullying at FLC , but if I did I would want someone to do something about it fast because no one should be degraded like that especially as a child.

3. I think that he bullies should be talked to or punished because of what they have been doing to people and someone should try to find out why they are doing it and try to solve the problem. Then talk to the people that are geting bullied and ask them about whats going on.
